La comunidad de Las Vegas se unió para construir un jardín comunitario de curación en respuesta a la tragedia del 1 de octubre de 2017, cuando un pistolero solitario mató a 58 personas e hirió a 500 más que asistían al festival de Route 91 Harvest. El memorial garden cuenta con un muro de recuerdos, una arboleda de árboles, arbustos, flores, pasarelas de adoquines y bancos.
The garden was constructed by the city and volunteers in just four days. The garden was sketched out on a napkin by Jay Pleggenkuhle and Daniel Perez of Stonerose Landscapes on Oct. 2, 2017. Hundreds of volunteers brought the plan to life, and the garden was officially opened on Oct. 6, 2017.

The oak tree in the middle of the garden was donated by Sigfried and Roy and is known as the tree of life. The tree of life sits in a heart-shaped planter adorned with tiles made by victims’ families, survivors, and community members. Learn more about this and other important city projects at

On Oct. 1, 2024, at 10:05 p.m., at the garden, the city of Las Vegas again will host an annual remembrance ceremony for those who were lost. A book that features stories of the 58 victims can be viewed here.
