
La concejal Francis Allen-Palenske fue elegida para servir a los ciudadanos del Distrito 4 y de la ciudad de Las Vegas en las elecciones de noviembre de 2022. Francis es nevadense de toda la vida y propietaria de una exitosa pequeña empresa. Creció en Reno, Nevada, y tiene una licenciatura en Ciencias Políticas y Empresariales de la Universidad de Nevada, Reno.
Since her election, Francis has brought her focus on public safety, fiscal responsibility, neighborhood outreach and building community to the City Council. She currently serves on the city of Las Vegas Audit Oversight Committee, the Local Law Enforcement Advisory Committee, Metropolitan Police Committee on Fiscal Affairs and on the Southern Nevada Regional Planning Coalition.
Elected to serve in the Nevada Assembly, Francis served in the 2004-2005 session as well as one special session. She was the first Asian-American female elected to the Nevada Legislature. During her time in the Assembly, the Peace Officers Research Association of Nevada honored her with the Outstanding Assemblywoman Award.
Always active in the community, Francis often works with charities and organizations looking to improve outcomes for children. Among the groups she has served with as a board member are the Speedway Children’s Charities, Lone Mountain Little League and the Summerlin Hospital Medical Center. She has been active in supporting Three Square, Southern Nevada Burn Foundation, Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada, the Korean-American Women’s Association of Las Vegas, Grace in the Desert Episcopal Church, Doral Academy Fire Mesa and more.
Francis and her husband Stephen, a retired firefighter, have three children -- Ally, Emma and David. Recently, they welcomed a grandson named Rhett.
